Friendship BBQ in the Bay Area was such a fun and different dining experience. The ambiance is casual, lively, and perfect for going with friends. I loved the red lanterns hanging throughout the restaurant and the warm lighting it gives the space a cool, authentic BBQ atmosphere. The food was packed with bold flavors. We tried the grilled meat skewers, whole grilled squid, spicy clams with jalapeños and garlic, grilled corn, and the bone marrow topped with garlic and green onions. The skewers were juicy, smoky, and perfectly seasoned. The squid was tender, nicely charred, and had a delicious spicy kick. The clams were fresh and flavorful, and the bone marrow was rich, buttery, and one of my favorite dishes of the night. The staff was friendly, attentive, and helpful throughout our visit. They made sure everything came out hot and were available whenever we needed anything without making us feel rushed. Overall, Friendship BBQ is a great spot in the Bay Area for flavorful Chinese BBQ, grilled seafood, and shareable dishes in a fun atmosphere. I definitely recommend coming with a group so you can try a little bit of everything.

Came here with a friend and was pleasantly surprised. The grilled fish was definitely the highlight—crispy on the outside, tender inside, and packed with flavor. We also ordered a bunch of skewers, including beef, chicken skin, and sausages, and everything came out hot, well-seasoned, and perfect with a little extra spice. The portions were generous, and the food had that authentic late-night Chinese BBQ vibe. Service was quick, and the atmosphere was casual and lively. If you’re craving grilled skewers and spicy grilled fish, this place is definitely worth checking out.

disappointing experience. 1. The food took forever to arrive. Everything came out one skewer or one dish at a time. We waited about 40 minutes before deciding to leave. During that time, they only served crispy chicken cartilage, lamb kidney, clams, and pork brain. The lamb skewers we originally ordered never even arrived. 2. The portions were very small. The lamb kidney and oysters were at least one-third smaller than what other BBQ restaurants usually serve. The lamb kidney was also overcooked, dry, and had a strong gamey smell. 3. The clams weren’t cleaned properly. They were full of sand, and almost every bite was gritty. 4. The pork brain was nothing like the menu photo. The menu showed a generous serving in spicy red chili oil, but what we received was just a few tiny pieces floating in broth, with seafood mushrooms and fish balls used to fill the bowl instead. It was very misleading. 5. The service was poor. The server was wearing earbuds the whole time, looked unhappy, and we had to raise our voices just to get her attention. Overall, the food quality, portions, service, and waiting time were all well below expectations. I wouldn’t come back or recommend this place.

First time having and it was fire! We loved the burrito and bone marrow. I couldn't get over the spice rub and how good all the meats tasted The spiral potato and the pork belly and mushroom combo was out of this world will 1000 percent be back.

Friendship BBQ is such a fun spot if you’re looking for a casual place with good food and a lively atmosphere. I really enjoyed the flavors — the BBQ/skewer-style dishes were tasty, well-seasoned, and perfect for sharing. The place has a comfortable, social vibe, which makes it great for going with friends or trying something different for dinner. I also tried the IV beer, and it definitely made the experience more unique and memorable. The overall vibe felt fun and relaxed, and I liked that it wasn’t just about the food but also the experience. Definitely a spot I’d recommend if you’re in the mood for flavorful BBQ and a chill night out.
